This October, celebrating the creativity of Berlin, artists including world-renowned photographer Rankin, exhibited unique works of art under Potsdamer Platz, within a disused subway station in Berlin.
The bespoke art created by selected contemporary artists, such as Berlin-born Superblast, and German-based illustrator Olaf Hajek, was primarily designed to encourage people to embrace their creativity.
The concept of the CANVAS BAR was simple and innovative at the same time. White walls, bare rooms, and an energetic atmosphere transformed the U3 in Berlin into a creative space for stars and newcomers of the scene. Amongst them were the shooting star Paul Schrader, flower artist Mary Lennox and lettering artist Stefan Kunz.
Interactive workshops with selected artists also gave visitors to the CANVAS BAR the opportunity to become creative and to try themselves out.
On the last day, all artworks were sold for a good cause. The proceeds are used to sponsor students of the Design Akademie Berlin, who also had the opportunity to get creative in the CANVAS BAR. -GM
