BUDDING
“The woman is a being through which man feels connected to nature as the woman is very similar to nature in its birth-giving, and life-blooming characteristics. That is why many languages use the term ‘mother nature’ when referring to nature as she is the bridge between life and man. She is able to recreate herself, and that is the source of her characteristics.
The woman not only causes a miracle by giving birth but also has the ability to reconstitute herself spiritually. She fulfills this by putting herself in the center. Though the word ‘budding’ reminds us of the ’body,’ it stands for reproduction, the regaining of life, and regeneration of a cell. My exhibition ‘Budding’ depicts these characteristics of the woman by using all the aesthetic and composition figures of photography.” – Emel Karakozak
