Sky Garden: Unsurpassed Views of London, together with the Best in Fine Dining July 5, 2018

There is so much to do and see in London that an eternity would not offer enough time. From historic sites to entertainment venues, London has it all. Consequently, and without a doubt, London’s food scene is one of its main attractions. Enter the Sky Garden: the spectacularly designed glass dome of 20 Fenchurch Street housing three floors of entertainment and fine dining, in an oasis of trees and gardens 115 meters above London. Fenchurch Restaurant is the reigning crown of this magnificent feat of architecture, design, and dining.

Like a hidden treasure, Fenchurch Restaurant is nestled amongst the trees of the top floor of Sky Garden. Within its intimate atmosphere, Fenchurch Restaurant offers an outstanding array of culinary choices. All meticulously confectioned to satisfy even the most demanding of diners. The menu, best described as British contemporary, is overseen by Head Chef Daniel Fletcher. Noteworthy dishes include the richly flavored slow-cooked lamb ravioli with crisp sweetbreads, sweet garlic, and almond pesto, and the roast guinea fowl, with Bianchetti truffle spatzle, speck ham, and cauliflower. Other remarkable dishes include the delectable fillet of cod with St Austell Bay mussels and Hispi cabbage in wild garlic sauce, and the charred Iberico pork, with mammole artichoke, toasted spelt, and wild leek sabayon. For dessert, the passion fruit meringue tart and almond milk ice cream, or the delicious gianduja and citrus bar with banana yoghurt ice cream will provide the perfect ending to your meal.

At the bar, head Sommelier Alexandru Pastrav has crafted an extended, and impressive list of fine wines, and cocktails. The list of wines offers a selection from some of the world’s most famous vineyards, as well as boutique providers from France, Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Georgia, and America.

Within the marvelous ambiance of the Fenchurch Restaurant, the service and attention to details offered by the diligent staff are one of the most important aspects making this dining experience as memorable as the breathtaking views of London outside its windows. It is a level of service rarely seen in today’s world of dining. A level of service and expertise other restaurants should aim to emulate.

When in London, there are thousands of choices for what to eat or where to eat. Nevertheless, if dining with a view while enjoying the best in British cuisine is what you are looking for (and you should), Fenchurch Restaurant at the Sky Garden should be at the top of your list next time you visit London.

About the Fenchurch Building and Sky Garden

– The Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street is a public space, and London’s highest public garden, offering 360-degree views of the city. The best views of London can be admired from Sky Garden. 20 Fenchurch Street was designed by world-renowned Uruguayan architect based in New York City, Rafael Viñoly. The building is known locally as the “Walkie-Talkie,” and rises 38 floors above the City of London, making it the 5th tallest building in the city.

– The gardens were designed by the award-winning landscape architecture company, Gillespies. In the terraces, drought-resistant Mediterranean, and South African species of trees, and plants flourish all year round. The flowering plants are African Lily (Agapanthus), Red Hot Poker (Kniphofia) and Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia reginae). Fragrant herbs found here include French Lavender and Rosemary.

– Besides Fenchurch Restaurant, Sky Garden also houses the Sky Pod Bar, City Garden Bar, Darwin Brasseries, and the Fenchurch Terrace.
