Born in the Dominican Republic, Coral Del Mar arrived in the United States in 2014. A makeup artist since 2011, she now resides in New York City where she has furthered her career as a makeup artist. Coral’s love for makeup is not only based on her passion for makeup itself, but also her appreciation for the arts as both of her parents are artists who introduced her to the world of art from an early age.
Back home in the Dominican Republic, Coral attended school for marketing and branding at the Altos de Chavon School of Design. As she started her journey in marketing and branding back in the Dominican Republic, her career took a very different but enjoyable new route where she has found her true passion. To afford to pay for her college education, she started doing makeup for her friends during special events. Following her innate artistic talent, faces became a sort of blank canvas for Coral. Seeing a future in makeup, she attended The Vargas Academy in New Jersey from where she has received certifications for Special Effects, Makeup Master Class, HD Makeup and Face Painting.

In this dazzling city of New York, she has paved herself a road to success. With her annual participation in New York Fashion Week and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, her clientele has grown spontaneously. Some of her clients include Inglot, Badgley Mischka, and Michael Costello. She is also a regular at the International Beauty Show New York (IBSNY), the Make-up Artists, Exhibitors and Enthusiasts Trade Show (IMATS), and the Couture Show New York, among other shows and events.
Coral believes makeup today has become a way for people to express themselves. She sees makeup as important as accessories are to complement the perfect outfit. “It can communicate your personality, fill you up with confidence, and it is the first thing others notice about you when talking to them.” Coral Del Mar continues to work in New York City and often travels for work throughout the United States, and to the Dominican Republic. – GM
