NYFW F/W 2019 - Jeremy Scott

During New York Fashion Week A/W 2019, Jeremy Scott showcased an emphatic collection in collaboration with the artist, Alexandra Mir. For the collection, Mir designed hand-drawn interpretations of tabloid covers from two of New York City’s leading newspapers: the New York Post, and New York Daily News. The collection is a firm rebuttal by Scott against what he feels is a public obsession with salacious headlines that divide us and make us perpetrators and victims of a never-ending news cycle. Within the collection, we find pieces that reflect the frenzy of breaking news today. The black and white color palette bolsters the graphic nature of the collection, with leather, sequins, Swarovski crystal mesh, silks, and tulle taking center stage. – GM
