For Fall/Winter 2019, Wan Hung draws inspiration from the story of an elephant called Bubbles, and a dog named Bella. The special bond between the two is symbolic of the importance of nurturing an innocent soul, and the child within, in order to avoid the growth of a hard and protective shell which can hold us back from experiencing the beauty of this world.
Hung designs for the transitional stage when a boy is becoming a man; known for his juxtaposition in tailoring, Wan Hung continues to innovate through textile development and utilitarian pattern cutting. For this collection, Wan creates protective layers of softness, nourishing a childlike mind through the use of velvety textures and vibrant colors. – GM
