New York City, NY. – During this New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020, Stacey Bendet debuted the newest Alice + Olivia Fall/Winter collection, featuring a collaboration with Zero Waste Daniel. The collection, inspired by the globetrotter, features striking prints, fabric, and artwork from all over the world.
The presentation, which took place at Highline Stages, featured five sets meant to transport attendees through time, with eclectic furniture and rugs sourced from Newel. The first set was a dark but enchanting forest, followed by other intrinsic sets, such as an old-world Orient Express train and a chateau filled with vintage trunks, rugs, and curiosities. Bendet said, “What’s old is right again: we ought to take time to appreciate the beauty of what’s here and make it new.”
For this modern bohemian collection, Bendet teamed up with designer and non-waste pioneer, Zero Waste Daniel, to bring new life into a few preexisting looks. Zero Waste Daniel, recognized for his creative approach in reducing waste, applied excess fabric from FA20 to older styles giving them an updated, new look. Zero Waste Daniel said, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to show how zero-waste fashion can be applied to so many styles and have the chance to flex my design skills with such a fun and colorful customer in mind. Alice + Olivia is the perfect partner because in order to make sustainability popular, you also have to make it fun, and A+O is the MOST FUN!”– GM
