New York City, NY. – The menswear brand by Taiwanese duo Orbit Lin and Chi Houng opened NYFW: The Shows with its FW20 collection titled, “Omni Direction.” The brand showcased a collection that can be easily adapted to changing weather and multiple settings – from the streets to the countryside.
The color palette featured darker hues, such as navy, olive, grey, charcoal, taupe and black. Trench coats, short jacket, and vests highlighted the attention to detail and tailoring by the designers, featuring details such as curved zippers, bold hemlines and narrow, yet, asymmetrical lapels.
The designers continued to focus on technical design and new-tech materials, choosing Polartec, nylon, poly, and cotton as the main fabrics and textiles for the collection.
Even though oqLiq is a menswear brand, the designers chose to make their mark on the subject of gender neutrality by featuring one of their looks on a female model during the runway show. This move speaks to the unisex versatility of the collection. – GM
