New York City, NY. – For her Fall-Winter 2020 collection presented during New York Fashion Week, Vivienne Hu paid homage to Americana and the romanticism of the Southwest.
The New York-based designer implemented a color palette inspired by the neutrals hues of the canyons throughout the forty looks paraded down the runway. As a whole, the collection can be described as cowboy chic, with a mix of dreamy fighter pilot leatherwear and smartly tailored down jackets added to the mix.
“I was inspired by the beauty and sheer magnitude of the great American Southwest. I think it was Antelope Canyon that first stole my breath away”. Said Hu. “In this collection, I hope to capture the nostalgia of witnessing such natural grandeur while playing on the lore of the west.”
For this collection, the designer collaborated with sustainable fur producer, Saga Furs, and Luxury Danish jewelry line, Shamballa Jewels. The final runway look boasted a grand price tag of $200,000 with its diamond and gold embellished gown made from the finest Italian fabrics. – GM
