New York City, NY. – With his flagship store re-opening this Fall 2019 in New York City, London-based fashion designer Cho Cho Cheng debuted a more commercial and practical Spring Summer 2020 collection during this New York Fashion Week. The designer, a Parsons School of Design Graduate, is recognized worldwide for his attention to detail, focusing on traditional British tailoring.
The Spring Summer 2020 collection highlights a color palette of neutral colors, candy stripes, tones of pink, vibrant coral shades of red, and monochrome tones. Compared to his last NYFW collection presented in February 2019, this line-up is a more relaxed, and care-free take on the brand’s characteristic style. The collection is lively, young, and fun while keeping in check with its British influences. Cheng’s craftsmanship is showcased throughout the implementation of both tailored and loose silhouettes, from shift dresses to breezy tops. Adding to the Spring Summer motive, the looks were accessorized with straw bags, high platform espadrilles from Spain, and oversized wood-framed sunglasses.
Cheng’s work is also recognized for his use of sustainable fabrics that are 100% natural and cruelty-free. The brand also forbids the use of commercial iron-on interfacing and machine finishing. For this collection, cotton boucle, cotton knit, linen, and Swarovski crystal embroideries were implemented. All garments by Chocheng are hand-sewn in London following traditional Savile Row techniques of tailoring. -GM
