New York City –With a global presence in over 40 countries, Elie Tahari has an iconic history in the world of fashion. For more than 40 years, the Israeli designer has held a spot in the fashion world as one of the most prominent designers of professional ready-to-wear and luxury garments. His keen eye for detail and attention to the tailored suit became a driving force in the world of fashion during the 1980s. While some fashion houses and designers have struggled with the pressure to reinvent themselves, Elie Tahari has remained true to his roots decade after decade while implementing few tweaks to his style.

His new Spring Summer 2020 collection, presented during this NYFW, showcased garments hinting to the decade that gave birth to his brand: the 70s. The color palette went from neutral tones to vivid red. Experimentation with leopard prints and polka dots gave the collection a more chic and playful touch. Traditional silhouettes were paired with more loose styles, showcasing the versatility of this collection, closing the show with an elegant, but young, day-to-evening dress with a knitted top. – GM
