Now at the Museum of Fashion and Costume at the Pitti Palace in Florence until May 5th, 2019, “Animalia Fashion” showcases the work of multiple brands, including Prada, exploring the animal world and how it influences the creative process in the fashion of today.
Divided into seventeen sections focusing on different species, the exhibit follows fashion creations from 2008 to 2018, showcasing a selection of clothes, footwear, accessories, and jewelry inspired by the animal kingdom. Sometimes with explicit representations, the exhibition commands the spectator’s imagination through textures, colors, and shapes.
On display at the exhibition, there is a Prada look from the Fall/Winter 2011 Women’s collection and Entomology, as well as the limited-edition bag created by Miuccia Prada with Damien Hirst. – GM
