Taipei, Taiwan – This October 06, 2021, Taipei Fashion Week held the 35th Annual Taiwan Fashion Design Award. This esteemed event recognizes local and emerging fashion designers from around the world. The Taiwan Fashion Design Award is bestowed upon individuals whose talent and ingenious design concepts are causing an impact in the fashion industry for the better.
Initially launching as a national award for local talent, the Taiwan Fashion Design Award is now one of the major fashion events in Asia, and a worldwide affair, with participation open to designers from all over the globe. Over 450 participants were part of the event this year, hailing from 18 countries on three different continents. Twelve designers were elected to showcase their collections during the event. The first-place prize award went to Gajadeera and Ruwanthi Pavithra, from Sri Lanka, for their work “Sustainable Fashion/Textile and Traditional Crafts.” Second-place awards were presented to Yeh Yu-Hsien for “Mirage,” and Chen Ching-Lin for “Where have all flowers gone.”
